Syracuse Has A New Point Guard, I Mean Quarterback For Their 2009 Football Team

For those of you football nuts who also follow basketball, you may recognize the name Greg Paulus.  He playrbaed point guard for Mike Krzyzewski at Duke the last four years.  And he is now the starting quarterback for the Syracuse Orangemen.  Wow that’s quite a change up.




Two sport athletes are not that unusual in Division I NCAA sports.  But the path that Paulus has taken is.  Charlie Ward, Donavan McNabb, and Ronald Curry are names you may remember who played basketball after football season ended.  But Greg Paulus is taking this job after completing his college career and as he has started graduate school.

What would prompt an athlete like Greg to do this?  Well in his case is was the invitation to tryout for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers a few days after his basketball caree
