There may be hope for NFL football players

Over the last few years, as I am really starting to think the football players in the NFL are threatening to ruin this sport I love, along comes a glimmer of light. First, Roger Goodell seems committed to forcing players to clean up their acts. Then I read about something that happened down in Texas with a couple of the Houston Texans’ players 2 years ago that gives me hope. If you haven’t heard about it, you will enjoy this story.

Football and the NFL lost a great one.

Bill Walsh lost his battle with leukemia last week. And the game of football lost a true “legend” with his passing. I wrote a few weeks ago about his impact on the game of football. And it is truly amazing.

College Football: Money talks and ….. NCAA wimps out.

A recent announcement has come out from college football conference commissioners and others who run the current BCS format shows that they are sticking with their money, I mean story. Or maybe I really mean money. College footballs current four bowl, single championship game format won’t change for at least three years.

Did you ever wonder how the Notre Dame football team got those helmets looking so good? Well I recently read about how they do it and it’s a great story. I didn’t know it before, but that is probably because I don’t follow the Fighting Irish football program that closely.

Should there be a playoff system in College Football Division I?

Everyone else has weighed in on this question, so I figured that I would get on the record as well. We need a College Football playoff system for the top tier football teams! I feel that all the excuses used to justify staying with the current College Bowl Game structure are just that. Excuses! None of them hold water with me.
