I Just Don’t Get Albert Haynesworth
So all the big news is about Haynesworth failing his conditioning test at Redskins training camp. And today he is “resting” before, I guess, taking the test again. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says that Haynesworth cannot practice until he passes this test. Here are my issues with Albert Haynesworth. First, he appears to be so self centered and selfish, it’s not even funny. He takes a huge check from the team in April, a $21 million dollar bonus, then he says that he wants to be traded. Again, after taking the money.
Second, last year and now before training camp this year, he is so overweight and out of shape that he can’t really contribute to helping the team. So, after accepting a $100 million dollar contract, he won’t honor that contract by working hard to help the team.
All of this points to character problems. And to look at his character, I guess all you have to do is go back a few years and look at the incident in 2006 when he stomped on the head of Cowboys center Andre Gurode. Or maybe it’s not really character problems, but no character at all.
Albert Haynesworth appears to me to be nothing more than an incredible waste of talent. He has shown in the past that he can play the game, and play it well. But now he either really doesn’t want to play anymore or thinks he can just take the money and show up without working. Either way, I just don’t understand it.

Albert has actually dropped 30 pounds this offseason. The conditioning test they are asking him to complete is a joke. When was the last time you saw a d-lineman run 300 yards. He did go a little too far by asking to be traded but the Redskins didn’t hold up to their end of the bargain either. They want him to play a position that he has never played away from one that made him very successful. He should have stayed with the Titans but the Redskins are the one who tampered and made the deal before free agency actually started. They both are getting what they deserve.

Karma is a mutha… as we all know and he’s learning about it. Shanahan says he has to pass the test then he has to pass the test.
